BUYER BEWARE: Almost every mole and skin tag remover on the market is fake or does not work as advertised, and many of them can give you severe burns and scarring. Again, read this first so you don’t waste your money or worse, end up with severe burns and scars.
After lab testing every product for accuracy of label ingredient claims, we discovered dozens of fraudulent products.
Most products, especially those found on Amazon, didn’t have ANY of the ingredients they listed on the label. These products contained various forms of highly concentrated acid, which causes severe burns to users skin.
Most of these products came from Amazon. The ones we bought in stores like Walgreens did not have an acid burning effect but that didn’t mean they all worked either.
You may be wondering why these products can be sold here in the United States. After deeper research of these products we discovered that all the products with acid came from China.
You should be extremely wary of products you consume or put on your skin coming from China!
China has no safety regulations in place and can be sold directly through Amazon bypassing US safety and consumer protection laws.
And know this… Amazon does not require the sellers of these mole and skin tag removers to prove these products are safe or even work. It is an open gateway for fraudulent sellers to sell dangerous and fake products into the US market without any of the consequences an American company would face.
And the hard truth is, these ineffective and harmful Chinese mole and skin tag removers have taken over the Amazon category. But it gets worse!
(Before we get into these issues, just know it's not all bad. There are a few products on and off amazon that do work and we highlight those products below along with which products to avoid!)
These companies use fake reviews to deceive customers into believing they are selling a legitimate product.
Most consumers go to Amazon to both research and purchase products. They depend on the reviews to learn more about customer experiences, product opinions and confidently buy quality products.
There have been multiple news articles from The Wall Street Journal, CBSNews, Washington Post, CNBC and other reputable media outlets covering fraudulent Chinese sellers on Amazon and all the dirty misleading tactics they use.
You can find videos of review farms in China where they have tens of thousands of fake amazon accounts that flood these products with 5 star reviews, while giving legitimate competitors 1 star reviews.
Other dirty tactics offer unhappy buyers upwards of $100 to remove their 1 star reviews.
It’s gotten so bad that Congress has stepped in and is demanding Amazon do something about unsafe products and the extreme rise in fake reviews, which they now estimate is around 40% of all reviews on Amazon!
It’s worse in some categories than others and the beauty and supplement space is one that has been hit the hardest.
Sadly, Amazon has not done much to stop this, maybe because it benefits their profits, or maybe it’s too hard to police. Either way, it is imperative you become a more educated consumer when buying on amazon.
But don’t worry…
